Steve’s Golf School provide lessons with a difference.

A great way to get fit and ready for the golf season.

It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or just wanting to improve.

Everyone can gain some benefit.

We are all very friendly and enjoy a nice sociable coffee after the lesson.

What to expect:

 Steve’s warm up – great for burning off those extra calories

Theme of the week: It could be anything from chipping, pitching, bunker practise, putting , fairway woods and of course the long drive.

Skills tests: Steve’s lessons are far from boring, we always finish with a skills test on whatever theme we have been working on during the lesson. It gets quite competitive and a fun kind of way.

We do have a good following of members joining in these lessons but please don’t let this put you off, as  you really  don’t have to be a member to come along.

Price is £5 for members & £7.50 for non members paid weekly so you can come along as and when you have the time.

Come along for a game every Saturday and get a a Free lunch This golf deal is open to both members and visitors playing 18 holes on the main course.  Lunch will be available between 12.00 – 2pm.

Saturday Club T&C’s

• Free lunch after your game. It could be a simple buffet, a bacon roll, Cheesy chips, Hot Dog’s, Sizzling Steak Baguette depending on the bookings on the day.

Who is included:

• Members of our club and their guests.
• Pay & players doing 18 holes on the main course that havepre-booked booked online through our website or direct in the clubhouse by the Friday before.

Sorry but we do have a few exclusions – but they can always join in if  booked through our website next  time

• Players from reciprocal golf clubs.
• Players that have booked via “teeofftimes.co.uk” or “onlineteetimes”.
• Societies.
• Groupon bookings.

Conditions:

• Bookings for pay & play must book by the Friday before at the latest – for catering purposes.
• Only 1 x 4 ball permitted to book in under 1 name through the clubhouse.
• Food will be served between 12.00 – 2pm.

Christmas Opening Times

Julie, Simon, David, Tilly and staff would like to wish all our members and regular pay and players a very Merry Christmas and to let you all know the opening times for the clubhouse during the festive season.

Christmas Eve: Normal times. Please join us for Christmas nibbles and silly games on the wii from 1.30pm

Christmas day: CLOSED

Boxing day (Monday): Bookings online only , greenfees set at £25 for 18  holes. the clubhouse will be open for a limited time subject to bookings.

28 players turned up and enjoyed a rather chilly invitation day  this morning. Just 6 players were not TOUGH ENOUGH!

Ever since my Dad started his company some 50 odd years ago, as a family we have always re-cycled things. So, well before it was trendy we recycled bricks, timber, windows, doors, in fact anything we saw a use for was re-used,(recycled).

So the same has continued for our golf course. We have made use of reclaimed materials for the clubhouse and our holiday cottages. This seems to work really well in making a very homey comfortable atmosphere that all our members love us for. Our big tables in our club dining room have been made from huge doors that originally came from the old John Whites factory in Rushden.  The table legs came from the banister rails from Whitlebury Hall. The mahogany wood flooring originated from Bassingbourn barracks. Many of these bits and pieces could probably tell you a very interesting story. All these artefacts which would have been wasted were salvaged by Dad’s demolition salvage company and put to good use.

The actual golf course was built on very flat boring farm land but with the careful use of landfill, has been sculptured into what is now a very interesting and challenging course. Yes we have had trouble with the council and been taken to court more than once. But each time we have won as all we’ve ever tried to do is make good use of what others might call waste. We have never tried to hide or cover up anything we have done. We have never used anything that is likely to harm the environment or wildlife. In fact we have created a fantastic haven for many forms of indigenous wildlife that were finding life difficult to survive with an ever decreasing amount of suitable habitat for them to survive and breed.

It is our aim to continue recycling and making use of whatever we can to avoid wasting them. Our next big project is for a bio-mass generator that will be fuelled by woodchip. This will provide the whole complex with a reusable, cost effecting form of heating and also generate electricity to sell to the national grid.

Let’s hope this recession ends soon so we dare venture onwards!
